The Blackstone River Bikeway In Rhode Island Will Lead You To Albion Falls

Chasing waterfalls is an ideal way to spend a leisurely few hours or an entire day. We’re fortunate to have several gorgeous waterfalls in Rhode Island. Some, like Stepstone Falls, require a leisurely hike through the woods while others, such as Ponaganset Falls, you can just walk to. Whether you feel like hiking or biking, you’ll love chasing this waterfall along the Blackstone River Bikeway in Rhode Island.

Breathe in the fresh air as you hike or bike along the Blackstone River Bikeway, a nearly 12-mile trail that leads, in Rhode Island, from Cumberland to Woonsocket, or vice-versa.

Because it’s an easy trail, you might want to bring along the kiddos and your pup, as long as you keep your furry friend on a leash. Make sure you have plenty of bottled water, snacks, and your camera before setting off.

While the trail can get quite crowded, you’ll still likely experience quiet moments and may cross paths with a variety of wildlife, including deer, especially if you travel in the early morning. Geese and snapping turtles are also seen frequently along the trail.

Predominately flat, the trail earns glowing marks from hikers, bikers, and skaters for being well-maintained. However, be prepared for slippery conditions after it rains and snows and when there are leaves on the ground.

The trail boasts plenty of natural beauty, but the highlights of the trail are, arguably, Albion Falls and Manville Dam. Both offer idyllic backdrops for selfies.
