Plot A Course For Wondrous Wildlife On This Pennsylvania Mountain Biking Adventure
One of my favorite things about exploring Pennsylvania is running into wildlife - whether it's a cranky goose who honks as I snap a photo (from a safe distance; no one wants to get chased by an angry goose) or a deer who stands still and stares when she realizes she's not alone. If you're like me and enjoy those chance encounters with wildlife, add this hiking and mountain biking trail in Langhorne, Pennsylvania to your must-do list. You might want to bring a camera, too.
No matter how you prefer to explore Core Creek Park Trail - on foot, mountain bike, or horseback - you'll quickly see why wildlife is so abundant in this lush, wooded area.
The scenic trail wanders through Core Creek Park, where you'll find a full menu of amenities - ballfields, a playground, a dog park, tennis courts, and nature areas.
If you like your adventures with a few challenges, you'll certainly find them on this moderately difficult trail that tallies nearly 4.5 miles. Be prepared for muddy terrain. If you're hiking, that means wearing sturdy, waterproof shoes.
Fallen trees, roots jutting up from the ground, and steep hills also pose challenges for some hikers and bikers. Despite its moderate rating, the trail is considered both kid-friendly and dog-friendly.
While you'll mostly be focused on the path ahead, look to the sky and the trees every once in a while, too. The park is known for its abundance of birds, including vultures, eagles, and hawks.
Great blue herons and...
Ducks also live in the Bucks County Park. If you've got a camera, bring it along. You never know what memorable moments you'll capture.
Remember to always pack out when you take in. You'll find waste bags and waste stations in the park.
Before heading out, download a trail map on your phone. Some hikers complain the trail isn't well-marked, and cell service is spotty along the path.
