You May Not Like These Predictions About Pennsylvania’s Positively Frigid Upcoming Winter
The Old Farmer's Almanac will release its 2017 edition soon, and it has some grim predictions for Pennsylvania's upcoming winter. The almanac has been predicting weather for the United States since 1880. While the predictions aren't always correct, it claims an 80% accuracy rate, so you might want to take heed.
We won't have a more specific idea of the Old Farmer's Almanac's predictions for Pennsylvania until it comes out later this month, but you might not like its initial report.
The almanac predicts that our state will get less snow than normal, which is great news for anyone who has to shovel the walk.
However, while less snow is great...the almanac's prediction that we'll have much colder temperatures isn't as welcome.
This winter, Steelers fans could be very, very cold...
...and we can expect the roads to be icy..and to stay that way longer.
U.S. Climate Data reports that the coldest month in Pennsylvania is January...when low temperatures average only 26 degrees. The average high temperature is a bone-chilling 40 degrees.
Let's hope that we won't suffer another polar vortex. Do you remember the horrible winter of 2014?
You can buy your copy of The Old Farmer's Almanac on August 30th. It's for sale everywhere magazines and books are sold, and will cost you $6.99.
