At just 123 acres, Ringing Rocks County Park in Upper Black Eddy may not take up much space, but it packs a powerful scenic punch, including a waterfall and a boulder field.
However, to reach both of these Pennsylvania natural wonders, you'll have to follow a short but sweet hiking trail that tallies just under a mile round-trip.
The trail's considered easy, but you'll still want to wear shoes that are comfortable for walking on boulders.
Chances are you'll encounter quite a few other adventurers on your hike to the boulder field. The field is a popular natural attraction, so it can get really busy, especially during the warmer months.
Watch where you're walking on the trail. In the warmer months, keep an eye out for snakes. The sometimes-rocky terrain also makes it easy to twist an ankle if you're not paying attention to where you're going.
Don't forget your camera because you'll want to capture every moment of your breathtaking journey. Stop by the waterfall to watch as it tumbles downward.
The trail also features huge natural rock formations that make perfect backdrops for photos.
However, the highlight of this trail - and what draws visitors from far and wide - is the boulder field, a natural wonder in Pennsylvania.
While it might not look like it in photos, the eight-acre boulder field is huge, with boulders an estimated 10 feet deep.
Snapping photos is a must, but before you do that, take your hammer and lightly tap the rocks. Don't they sound like a bell ringing?
Ringing Rocks County Park is well worth a visit in any season, but if you go after it snows, you probably won't get to experience the natural wonder that is boulder field.
