Then, a bit further afield, Ohiopyle State Park lays claim to Ohiopyle Falls, Cucumber Falls, and Jonathan Run Falls. But, have you heard of and visited Cole Run Falls near Pittsburgh? If not, add it to your to do list.

Pack up the car for a picture-perfect day at Forbes State Forest, less than an hour and a half from downtown Pittsburgh.

Then, if you're up for a little more adventure, slip on your hiking boots or walking shoes and embark on Cole Rule Trail.

The 2.7-mile loop trail can be a bit more crowded than your visit to the falls. However, the moderately-rated trail offers plenty of beautiful scenery, including another small waterfall.
