Most People Have Never Heard Of This Magical Waterfall Hike In Oregon’s Columbia River Gorge

Looking for a stunning waterfall hike in Oregon where you can find peace, solitude, and stunning views? The 2.2-mile Upper McCord Creek hike is a little known Columbia River Gorge hike that leads through breathtaking scenery to a majestic hidden waterfall.

Located in the Columbia River Gorge, Upper McCord Creek Falls is a beautiful hidden gem waterfall.

The trail is 1.1 miles long, beginning at the woodsy John B Yeon State Park Trailhead. Follow the trail until you reach a fork with a sign for Upper McCord Creek Falls. You'll turn here to follow the trail uphill.

After some switchbacks the trail runs along a rock ledge (guarded by a metal railing).

Emerging from the forest, you'll be greeted by gorgeous views of the Columbia River. Soon, you'll be able to see Elowah Falls down below.

As the trail leads you back into the forest, you'll catch your first glimpse of the beautiful Upper McCord Creek Falls.

This magical cascade is breathtakingly beautiful.

You can walk all the way to the top of the falls and explore the creek, which is a great place to relax and take in the scenery.

Down below, McCord creek flows into the stunning Elowah Falls. To extend your hike, continue back down the way you came and then turn at the Elowah Falls Trailhead, which will lead you another .8 miles to this amazing waterfall. This whole area is positively extraordinary.
