Explore 176 Acres of Trails, Reservoirs, and Stunning Trees at Portland’s Beloved Mt. Tabor Park
Mt. Tabor Park is a fabulous city park in Portland, Oregon, that's built on a 636-foot-tall dormant volcanic cinder cone.
Mt Tabor is a beautiful, accessible mountain located right in the heart of Southeast Portland. I routinely walk up and around this mountain with my dog, kids, and friends. It's the perfect in-city nature getaway. It's got paved, dirt, and gravel walking paths encircling the peak, a playground, picnic tables, sports courts, a dog park, and more. But, best of all are the stunning, huge trees. It's the perfect spot for a picnic, a game of tag, an in-depth conversation, or a quiet walk — and every time I visit the park, I discover something new.
Mt. Tabor Park features 176.04 acres that are waiting to be explored.
This gorgeous park was established in 1909.
You'll find countless trails through the trees.
On my last visit, I saw an adorable duck mom and her babies.
I love walking around the reservoirs.
Everywhere you look is another beautiful view.
There are lots of shady trees to park yourself under.
You'll also find tennis courts.
If you're in an athletic mood, there are lots of stairs to climb.
My dog loves to go on walks in the park, too, including the off-leash dog park.
