Here in Ohio, waterfalls were meant to be chased.
You don't always have to travel very far off the beaten path to find one, however. In fact, one of Ohio's most scenic waterfalls is hiding just minutes from a major city. Hayden Falls Park in Dublin features a truly unique natural ecosystem, rare plants and animals and a 35-foot waterfall along the western shore of the Scioto River.
If you’ve ever heard rumors about an enchanting, emerald-hued waterfall hiding in Columbus, you should know it really does exist—and it’s calling your name this summer.
You'll find it at 4326 Hayden Run Rd., Dublin, OH 43017.
The gorge where the falls are located features a boardwalk and overlook area, making the waterfall easily accessible to visitors.
There are also a few picnic tables at this 2-acre nature preserve, making it the perfect quiet place for a picnic in the afternoon.
Depending on how much (and how often) rainfall has occurred, the width of the waterfall changes.
But even in the wintertime, the falls are a beautiful sight to behold.
In the summer months, Hayden Falls is a favorite spot among locals to enjoy on a sunny day. (However, please note that signs indicate that swimming is prohibited.)
It's like a little oasis from the city.
If you plan to chase waterfalls this summer, Hayden Falls belongs at the top of your list.
Hayden Falls Park is located at 4326 Hayden Run Rd., Dublin, OH 43017. Visit this summer and let us know what your experience was like!
