Clevelanders know that if you're looking for adventure, there's always something going on at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.
The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is always a great time. This 183-acre wildlife park features a number of unique international landscapes and it has a history that is intertwined with that of Cleveland. In fact, the first Cleveland zoo was located where the Museum of Art now stands, though it has been in its current location for more than 100 years.
It's also home to a landscape that is beautiful and impressive.
In addition to a great variety of animals and realistic habitats, this charming local zoo always seems to be debuting something new.
Programs, events, and newly unveiled attractions keep the park feeling fresh. Events like wintertime lights and summertime lantern festivals ensure there is something to do all year round, but there is now one more attraction that belongs on your zoo to-do list.
Lately, locals are hooked on one of the newest attractions: the Eagle Zip Adventure.
Visitors can board this aerial excursion next to Wade Hall, then they will find themselves soaring over features like Waterfowl Lake.
The new Eagle Zip Adventure shows visitors what it is like to soar high above the ground. From loading to unloading, visitors are on the zipline for about five minutes per session, and it's always invigorating.
Dangling roughly 150 feet above the zoo, you can often see Downtown Cleveland on clear days.
Little riders will need a bigger companion for the zipline; riders must be 42” tall to ride with a paying adult or 48” tall to ride solo.
Wondering how safe this ride is? Rest assured, it's inspected daily, plus it is subjected to rigorous monthly and annual testing. Check out Eagle Zip FAQs for more information, or plan to visit it between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weather permitting days.
As your ride on the zipline concludes, you'll enjoy the high-adrenaline zip for the last 700 feet of the aerial course.
After you spread your wings and take to the skies, you just might develop a new appreciation for the feathered friends you meet at the zoo.
Ready to take off in flight? You can visit the zoo at 3900 Wildlife Way, Cleveland, OH 44109.
