Dundee Falls in Ohio offers a refreshing and scenic waterfall hike suitable for all seasons.
There's nothing like a waterfall hike to refresh your mind and release some stress. Here in Ohio, there are plenty of waterfalls to chase. Beach City Wildlife Area in northeast Ohio is home to a lesser-known trail that leads to a underrated waterfall known as Dundee Falls. It's a wonderful day hike to take, no matter what time of year it is.
Hiding close to Ohio's beloved Amish Country, you'll find a little-known wildlife area that's home to a beautiful waterfall.
You'll find the trailhead along Dundee Wilmot Road in Dundee, Ohio.
It's refreshing to encounter this hidden gem on a hot and humid summer day—and it's a majestic, frozen sight to behold in the winter months.
Less than a half mile into the trail, you'll encounter the main waterfall. You could always stop here for awhile and walk back to the trailhead if you don't have the time.
A total of 2 miles out and back, this trail can easily be completed within an hour or two.
It's rated as "easy" on All Trails due to little elevation gain, but it can be challenging to hike after rainfall or snow.
Along the way, you'll encounter some interesting rock formations.
Be prepared for mud, roots and rocks and stay on the main dirt trail. Markings can be hard to spot, so pay attention to your surroundings and don't wander too far.
Although the falls are less than a half-mile from the trailhead, we recommend exploring the creek and gorge further.
Please note: Dogs are permitted but should be kept on a leash.
Whatever time of year it is when you choose to visit, you'll want to bring your camera!
