This Hidden Swimming Hole With A Playground And Camping In North Dakota Is A Stellar Summer Adventure
Brewer Lake in North Dakota offers a serene alternative to larger lakes with amenities for swimming, boating, and camping.
Tucked safely away within Cass County, North Dakota, is a delightful little swimming hole that's often overlooked in favor of much larger, more popular lakes in the state like Lake Sakakawea, but little do folks know - this is a minor mistake. Sure, Sakakawea is absolutely heavenly, but if you're like me and you prefer your idyllic summer days a little more relaxing and a little less madhouse, you're going to want to keep looking. And should you continue looking, you will eventually stumble upon Brewer Lake, one of the most delightful lakes in North Dakota - and it's got amenities. Come check out one of the best lakes in North Dakota, and maybe consider staying a while.
Brewer Lake can be found in the small town of Erie, where, to be honest, there's not a lot going on.
But this a good thing - definitely a good thing. We WANT calm and quiet. If we wanted hustle and bustle, we'd have gone somewhere else.
With nearly five miles of shoreline and 125 square acres of water, Brewer Lake is the perfect alternative to a busy beach day at a larger lake.
At its deepest, Brewer Lake goes about 48 feet down, making it excellent for boating and fishing.
...and you can definitely do these things here. There's a boat ramp on-site, after all.
Brewer Lake is also popular among folks who love a good old-fashioned day at the lake spent swimming, picnicking, boating, and overall simply having a great time.
The lake and its adjacent park have a few amenities that ensure it's a perfect summer destination.
The playground is a favorite among the kiddos, so they have somewhere fun to play while the parents enjoy the water.
Camping at Brewer Lake is fun and easy.
You can make reservations prior to May 1st starting in February. I do definitely recommend booking in advance; though Brewer Lake Park is a lesser-appreciated gem, it can still get busy at times.
Some campsites have water and electric hookups; others are more primitive.
No matter when you show up or how long you stay, though, you're sure to love everything about Brewer Lake. Come see why it's one of the best lakes in North Dakota!
For more information about the park - particularly about camping at the park - be sure to check out the official Cass County website. Where are some of your go-to places for swimming and camping in North Dakota? Let me know!
