This 4-And-A-Half-Mile Trail In North Dakota Leads To Incredible Views

Nestled within Theodore Roosevelt National Park is a trail that is, quite possibly, the best trail with the most amazing views in all of North Dakota. Upon arriving at the park, you'll pay a small entry fee per car, and once you're in you'll make your way to the Caprock Coulee Loop trailhead. This incredible hiking trail in North Dakota is worth every step you'll take, as it seems like each is more scenic than the last.
Caprock Coulee Loop is a 4.4-mile loop trail that's rated as moderately difficult.
Due to its occasionally challenging nature, you won't often find crowds here at all.
The trail is, for the most part, quiet and peaceful. It's wonderful for those who appreciate wildflowers, as it's absolutely teeming with them during certain times of year.
The wildflowers are far from the only draw to the area.
The views of various parts of the badlands rock formations combined with the occasional incredible vantage points of the prairie plateau make for one absolutely awe-inspiring hike.
We recommend that one takes the trail in a counter-clockwise direction.
This way, you finish the hike with some of the best views of the entire journey... and then it's mostly downhill to return to the parking area.
Keep in mind that there are a few parts of this hike that are pretty difficult, especially for those with mobility difficulties and small children.
Caprock Coulee Loop will lead you through some of the most incredible views in all of North Dakota. You won't believe the majesty of the badlands or the breathtaking beauty of the wild prairie.

If you're extra lucky, you might just run into some of the residents of the wilderness surrounding the trail.
Bison are not an uncommon sight around here and you might also encounter an occasional coyote or two. Deer and mountain lions also inhabit the area.
