You don't have to reside in one of our big cities to find yourself needing a full day away from your every day life. Taking a day to reunite yourself with nature and breathe in some fresh air is often exactly what the doctor calls for. While some of our more famous spots like Watkins Glen State Park tend to receive much of the spotlight when it comes to picking out the most beautiful places in our state, there's a ton of remote attractions that you may not have heard of! Like say, Stonecrop Gardens? The perfect place to forget your worries and find peace, this underrated garden just might be the most beautiful spot in New York:
Located right in Cold Spring, this stunning spot in New York features 12 acres of various gardens that will all steal your breath away.
After paying your $5 entrance fee, you'll be given a detailed map to take with you on your self guided tour! To see all that is waiting to be explored and to check out an online version of the visitor map, click here.
Stonecrop Gardens opened back up for the season in the beginning of April and will remain open until October 31st! You can visit the garden Monday-Saturday from 10AM - 5PM, and also on other featured days.

Captured in the back of this photo, you can see one of the many unique features of this park, a natural bridge! Something that's truly beautiful to see in person.
Want a heads up? Don't underestimate how much time you'll want to spend at this tranquil garden! Generally speaking, our visitors spend at least a few hours exploring the grounds, often having their next trip to come back for more planned out before they manage to even leave.
Pictured above, the Wisteria Pavilion is a favorite spot for visitors to check out.
Not too far from the Wisteria Pavilion, you'll find one of the most zen areas in all of the gardens, the Bamboo Grove.
Don't forget the wildlife you'll spot while you're here! Turtles, fish and frogs...oh my! There's many more animal sightings you'll see during your visit.
Grass gardens, rock gardens and water gardens can all be found at Stonecrop Gardens. This hidden gem of Putnam County has no paved roads, meaning wearing a pair of sneakers that can handle slick areas would be a great idea.
The gardens elevation of over 1,000 feet allows it to be the home of many species of plants you wouldn't normally see in other areas of our state.
Helpful to check out before your visit, the Stonecrop Gardens website features a list of their current plants in bloom.
Unwind to views like this and soak in all of the gorgeous green scenery surrounding you!
