There's no doubt about it--New Orleans is a waterfront town. We have some of the most beautiful spots around Louisiana to enjoy some waterfront living. Here are some of the absolute best places to soak up those peaceful water vibes all throughout New Orleans.
1) The End of the World, Jourdan Ave
This spot near the intersection of the Industrial Canal and the Mississippi River can make you feel like you are at the crossroads of the entire city--no surprise then that they call this area "The End of the World."
2) Blue Crab, 7900 Lakeshore Dr., New Orleans
This delicious restaurant on Lakeshore drive serves up New Orleans favorites while you get to catch beautiful sunsets over the lake.
3) The Fly, Riverview Dr.
The people of New Orleans are so in love with this park there was almost a riot months back when it was threatened to be taken over by soccer fields. Luckily the community prevailed and this beautiful place to have a picnic or watch the great Mississippi flow by.
4) Stone Bridge, New Orleans City Park
There are multiple bayous and more than a few bridges in city park but it is this bridge near Morning Call in the park that I think is the most beautiful place to watch water go by in the park.
5) The Point, Breakwater Drive
Another place where you can ultimately feel almost entirely surrounded by water is The Point, an awesome place to get a view of Lake Pontchartrain.
6) Cabrini Bridge
You will be charmed by the beauty here at this historic bridge on Bayou St. John--site of the St. John's Eve water rituals!
7) Brisbi’s, 7400 Lakeshore Dr.
Another beautiful lakeside restaurant that offers gorgeous views and delicious food while you eat.
8) The Beach, Leake Ave
This small spot of riverfront nature left on the Uptown Levee of the Mississippi river gives you a taste of what the riverbank used to feel like and is an awesome spot to watch the waves crash in or bring your dog to play.
