With a whopping 365 days (give or take, of course) between every fall season, it's easy to forget just how much we love it around here this time of year. The air is crisp, pumpkins line the streets, and the fall foliage is turning an array of reds, yellows, and oranges. We're spending this season exploring all the ways we can see the best of this season's changing colors and this restaurant is one of our new favorites!
You can come by land or you can come by water! But, however, you get there you're going to want to spend some time at Walter's Basin Restaurant and Basshole Lounge in Holderness.
Sure, it's a homey place to catch up with friends.
And they serve an absolutely amazing bacon cheeseburger.
But if you time your visit with the peak fall foliage season, you're going to enjoy a lot more than just your meal.
The views here include the trees surrounding Little Squam Lake and that means when the colors change things are on fire. Of course, not literally...the kitchen is very safe!
It's the autumn vibes we're loving around here and you can get them through every window.
Or, just step outside to take it all in.
Folks often visit restaurants like this in the summer, but we'd argue that this place is best in the fall. Although the food is great any time of year.
There are a number of seafood dishes, including some absolutely epic takes on lobster.
How about a lobster mac and cheese?
Once you're full, take some time to walk around the lake and enjoy the surrounding nature. You have a few more weeks to do it before the leaves fall and you might just regret it if you miss them.
Walter's Basin Restaurant & Basshole Lounge is open Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. You can check them out on Facebook or give them a call on 603-968-4412.
