You Can See Your Feet While Swimming In The Clear Waters Of Kezar Lake In New Hampshire
Kezar Lake in Wadleigh State Park offers a pristine and less crowded summer destination for swimming, boating, and hiking.
One of the most fun pastimes during summer in New Hampshire is heading to a nearby lake and taking a plunge. There are tons to choose from and many offer nearby activities as well. All of this makes for a fun day in the sun, especially when you do it with friends and family. If you're planning an upcoming lake trip, give some thought to this wonderful option. The water will refresh you...and probably surprise you!
To take in the beauty of Kezar Lake you’ll want to head straight to Wadleigh State Park in Sutton.
This lovely park often gets overlooked in favor of some of New Hampshire’s larger ones, but it’s no less fun. Plus, it offers access to one of the clearest lakes you’ll find in New England.
And, visitors can be sure that this lake is clean as can be thanks to the Kezar Lake Protective Association. The group was formed in the 1970s to clean and protect the lake after pollution and algae blooms began plaguing it in the 1930s.
Today, the lake is pristine and offers water so clear that you can see to the bottom. And the beach here feels like a real vacation.
Whether you love swimming, boating or SUPing, spending the day at Kezar has limitless activities.
If you can manage to rent a cabin or camp on the banks of the lake you’ll be able to wake up early and take in the incredible sunrise. The rising mist is the type of thing you just can’t replicate on other bodies of water.
We also love that the park itself offers so many ways to enjoy the day. Check out the water in the morning, then head to a picnic area for a fun lunch right on the water.
To build up a sweat you can take any of the trails for a refreshing hike in the park.
We all know about the popularity of places like Lake Winnipesaukee and Echo Lake. Because so many people prioritize those spots, little lakes like Kezar often get overlooked.
That's good news for you since you won’t be fighting quite as many crowds! Just you, pals, family and the clear, blue water of Kezar Lake.
