9 Lake Beaches In New Hampshire That’ll Make You Feel Like You’re At The Ocean

Discover the best lakeside beaches in New Hampshire for a fun and relaxing summer experience.

Each summer we plan our weekends to maximize our outdoor fun. Sometimes that means hikes in the mountains, other times it's hitting a water park or simply relaxing at a public park. We love the beaches here in New Hampshire, but they're often crowded making the trip stressful and hectic. If you feel the same way, consider heading to one of the state's beautiful lakes. Many have pristine sandy beaches and they all offer lots of fun! These are some of the best beaches in New Hampshire:

1. Lake Wentworth, Wolfeboro

Head to Wentworth State Park to enjoy the beautiful lake, plus the amenities. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy between swims! If you’re in Wolfeboro and looking for a "beach near me," Lake Wentworth should be your first stop.

2. Lake Winnipesaukee, Laconia

This lake is one of the most popular in the state for good reason. First, it's huge! Second, there are so many places to enjoy a good time depending on what you're interested in. Weirs Beach is full of arcades, restaurants, and bars while the more mellow Ellacoya State Park beach will let you relax. Is it any surprise that the largest lake in the state also has one of the best beaches in New Hampshire?

3. Kezar Lake, Sutton

While the beach access here might not be as plentiful as some of the others, we love that there's plenty of shade at the beach on Kezar Lake. And while you're here, stick around and enjoy some of the trails at Wadleigh State Park.

4. Forest Lake, Dalton

If you're looking for a lake beach with lots of space to spread out, look no further. This beach is 200 feet of sandy beach. Forest Lake State Park also offers lots of places to each lunch and many trails to explore. Hidden but still one of the best beaches in NH

5. Chocorua Lake, Tamworth

This is a great destination if you want to be reminded of the natural beauty of the state. Views from the lake include the nearby mountains and there are tons of areas with beach access. At 1,100 feet above sea level, did you know that this lake is the highest of its size in the country? This 10-mile beauty is great for a summer day trip. There's a beautiful sandy beach and lots of ways to swim and boat. For those wondering are there beaches in New Hampshire? Head here to check out some of the clearest water in the state, too!

This is another very popular option in New Hampshire. The water is oh-so clear and there's even a nice trail going around the perimeter.
