We've got so many wonderful fruit farms in Montana. Does anything taste better than fresh fruit that you've picked yourself? We think not. We've rounded up details for you on a few you-pick farms in Montana where you can go berry picking this summer.
1. Gallatin Valley Botanical at Rocky Creek Farm: 34297 Frontage Rd., Bozeman, MT 59715
Whether you're out picking pumpkins in the fall or grabbing fresh kale straight off the produce stand, Gallatin Valley Botanical at Rocky Creek Farm is the perfect stop. You can buy delicious produce directly from the farmer.
The fact that you can go berry picking and get your own strawberries and apples makes this place even more appealing. Get more information from the farm's website.
2. Dude's Montana Peaches: 28 Seed Orchard Ln., Plains, MT 59859
If you love the first juicy bite of a fresh peach, Dude's Montana Peaches will look like a little piece of paradise. Here, you can purchase pre-picked peaches or go out and pick the fruit yourself.
The hours and fruit picking times vary, so make sure to check out their website or Facebook for when to stop by.
3. Getmans' Cherry Red Orchard: E Shore Rte, Bigfork
We love all fruits as much as the next person, but we gotta say, cherries just might be the best. This orchard will ship them right to your door if you can't make it by to pick your own!
However, we do think they taste much better shortly after being picked. The fun of getting to pluck them right off the branches yourself is an added benefit! Check out the farm's Facebook for more information on you-pick dates.
4. Hockaday Orchard: 25 Hockaday Lane, Lakeside, MT 59922
While we're on the topic of delicious cherries, Hockaday Orchards is one of the oldest u-pick farms in the Flathead Valley.
The orchard has been family-owned for four generations and in business for over 100 years, so they must know what they're doing! Cherry harvesting season is typically in late July. You can get more information on the Hockaday Orchards website.
5. Red Hen Farm and Orchard: 3803 Spurgin Rd, Missoula, MT 59804
You'll find a seemingly never-ending plethora of unsprayed, deliciously organic fresh produce here. From raspberries to strawberries to blueberries to veggies, you can get all kinds of produce at this farm and orchard.
Much of the produce you can even pick yourself, and they have fresh eggs and flowers. It's no wonder this is such a beloved local spot in Missoula! Find out more information on the farm's website.
