If You Live In Montana, You’ll Want To Visit This Amazing Park This Winter

As if we weren’t already completely spoiled by our amazing state parks in Montana during warmer weather, there happen to be a few that are even better to visit during winter. Lone Pine State Park, for example, seems to be its most inviting when the ground is covered in snow. It’s definitely worth bundling up to go explore before spring.

Lone Pine State Park is located in Kalispell.

It overlooks the Flathead Valley, meaning you’ll have breathtaking views from the top. On a clear day you can see Flathead Lake, Big Mountain, the Jewel Basin and Glacier National Park.

The park has 7.5 miles of trails to explore.

You can hike or bike when the weather permits, but this time of year, it’s best to strap on your snowshoes and explore the paths that way.

It’s a beautiful place to go cross-country skiing.

Forget the crowded ski resorts. Lone Pine State Park is paradise.

This park is often described as revitalizing for the soul.

That’s probably because it’s such a peaceful place, especially during the off season when it’s not very crowded.

When you need to warm up, head to one of the established fire pits.

There are also grills and fire rings.

If you need to host an event and you want a unique venue, the newly remodeled Visitor Center is open year-round and has a Community Room that’s available to rent.

The Community Room has an LCD projector and screen and a big screen TV. It’s nearly impossible to host an outdoor event this time of year, so it’s nice to know you’ll still have options if you want to have your get-together at this beautiful park.
