Get Lost In This Beautiful 40-Acre Lavender Farm In Montana

Purple Mountain Lavender in Lakeside offers a unique lavender farm experience with workshops, events, and a variety of lavender products.

While we're still battling snow in certain parts of the Treasure State, it won't be long before the sunshine sticks around for awhile and everything is in bloom (we promise). And if you're planning to visit Flathead Lake this year, you'll definitely want to head to the town of Lakeside and check out Purple Mountain Lavender.

The Purple Mountain Lavender Farm sits overlooking the beautiful Flathead Lake in the tiny town of Lakeside.

It has remained a family owned and operated business since its 2004 beginnings.

You'll find over 1100 plants and 30 varieties of lavender here.

The plants are used mainly to make a wide variety of lavender products. No synthetic chemicals are used in the growing process.

Lavender has been known for its healing and relaxing properties for centuries.

Ancient Greeks and Romans scented their bathwater and soaps with it, and it's currently used in essential oils, candles, and even food.

Owners Gregg and Deb Davis have quite a collection of lavender products, which they sell at the onsite barn shop.

While you'll have to make an appointment to visit the farm, you can buy some of their products online.

Perched on the hill, the farm feels a bit like a secret garden.

If you have the chance to visit, you're lucky indeed.

Every summer, the family hosts workshops and events, from how-to demos to crafts.

There's also an annual culinary lavender dining experience, which includes a five course meal of lavender infused goodness.

Purple Mountain Lavender will be open for visitors by June 15.
