It may still be snowing in some parts of Montana, but that doesn't mean we're not dreaming of those long, summer days on the horizon. And for most of us, that means getting outside and enjoying the weather.
Kalispell's Woodland Park is a large, peaceful area with playgrounds, picnic areas and plenty of flowers. And during the summer months, the Woodland Water Park makes a nice surprise for families (and kids at heart).
Woodland Park is located at 45 Woodland Park Drive in Kalispell.
Secluded and sheltered by trees, it's a beautiful place to spend the day in any season.
Some people are surprised to learn that the Woodland Water Park even exists.
It's open seasonally and it's not nearly as large as Montana's other water parks, but it's a wonderful place to cool off on a hot day.
The water park consists of a couple of water slides, a lazy river and a multi-lane swimming pool.
Relax and unwind in the river or unleash your inner child on the sky-high slide.
The water park can get crowded during the summer, but if you go early in the day, you'll be able to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet.
Seating is limited here, so bring a few lawn chairs if you plan to stay awhile.
Woodland Water Park is typically open from June - September.
The hours vary depending on the date and the weather. Admission rates vary but are very affordable - day passes in 2016 were $6 for adults and $4-$5 for kids.
