Montana’s Favorite Pumpkin Patch And Corn Maze Is Officially Open For Fall
Explore the best pumpkin patches in Montana for family-friendly fall activities.
What's your favorite fall tradition? We're lucky to get to experience all four seasons here in Montana, and most will agree there's nothing like autumn in the Treasure State. If traipsing through a corn maze and visiting a pumpkin patch is on your must-do list this year, fuel up your car and head to Dillon before Halloween. The Beaverhead Maze and Pumpkin Patch is back in business, and this year promises to be better than ever.
Every September, this rural farm on Highway 41 in Dillon is converted into a fun, family-friendly fall experience.
The highlight is the monstrous maze, which contains over 700 bales. There's also a smaller toddler maze for the little ones.
It takes a lot of time and effort to make this happen, and farmer Nicole Hull typically starts preparing in June.
The opening date is different every year, but she always aims for mid-September. This year's grand opening was delayed by a few weeks, but the farm will stay open through Halloween.
The maze design is different every year, and this year's version promises to be the most intricate yet.
Admission is $7 per person, and children ages two and under are free.
In addition to the classic maze and pumpkin patch, the farm hosts several special events each year.
This includes a Maze of Brews event (which sounds amazing to us), a Game Day with events like Plinko and Pumpkin Chug, and the special Haunted Maze, which always takes place on Halloween. You can also stop by the farm on Halloween for some trick-or-treating.
Once you've worked up an appetite navigating the maze -- and you will -- you'll definitely want to head straight for the concessions stand.
Feast on snacks like fries, or go for the famous pulled pork nachos, washing everything down with an ice-cold Coke.
Typically, Beaverhead Maze and Pumpkin Patch is open Thursdays through Sundays from noon until 8 p.m.
However, this is a small, family-owned business, and dates and hours are subject to change. The best way to figure out when you should visit is to check out the farm's public Facebook group.
