All families have disagreements when it comes to the perfect family-friendly outing in Missouri. However, it’s probably safe to say that you can never go wrong with an outing that includes animals, right? For a fun day the whole family will love, spend a few hours at this popular Missouri zoo before having a little one-on-one time with butterflies.
Billed as Branson’s largest attraction, Promised Land Zoo promises a ton of fun for visitors of all ages – whether you stroll around the 75 acres or you sign up for one of its animal encounters.
Even a leisurely walk around the zoo means plenty of laughs and the chance to see some of the zoo’s most popular residents, including zebras, sloths, and kangaroos.
You can even sign up for one of the zoo’s popular adventures. The VIP Adventure, for example, gives you the opportunity to have an up-close encounter with up to four small animals. Feed, touch, and take pictures with the critters.
If you prefer choosing your animal encounter, opt for the VIP+ Adventure. VIP+ takes you into the enclosure of your chosen animal – sloths, lemurs, anteaters, and owls. (Participant age restrictions may apply.)
Even if you don’t choose an encounter, you can still get up close and personal with some of the zoo’s residents at the petting zoo. Stop by and feed the parakeets, too.
After your adventure at the zoo, head almost next door – a mile, to be exact – to The Butterfly Palace. Start part two of your adventure by feeding the butterflies in the aviary. Free nectar flowers are provided.
While the star of the attraction might be the butterflies, The Butterfly Sanctuary is also home to a living rainforest. You might even get to meet some of its resident reptiles and amphibians.
Explore the Emerald Forest Maze; watch a 15-minute film about butterflies, and make your way through the Banyan Tree Bungee Adventure.
If a single day isn’t enough, your all-inclusive admission is good for three days, as long as you keep your wristband on your wrist.
Plan your visit by checking out the Promised Land Zoo website and The Butterfly Palace website.
