Bryant Creek State Park Is The Newest State Park In Missouri And It’s Incredible

Bryant Creek State Park, the newest state park in Missouri, officially opened in 2022. If you've not been yet, make it the backdrop for your next adventure.

Adventure - and some of the most stunning natural scenery - awaits at Bryant Creek State Park in Ava, a magnificent destination that spans more than 2,900 acres.

Missouri State Parks asserts that Missouri's newest state park is still in development, but there are already several amenities awaiting visitors.

Get to know Bryant Creek State Park along one of its two scenic hiking trails. The Bryant Creek State Park Walk, an easy path, clocks in at just half a mile.

While that short stroll is a great introduction to the new Missouri state park, consider also following the longer 4.9-mile Pike Hollow Trail. It's considered moderate, primarily due to some rocky terrain. Expect inclines, too.

Bring your pup along on this dog-friendly trail that boasts small waterfalls, a variety of plants, and plenty of wildlife. Chances are pretty good that you'll at least cross paths with a few deer.

A full list of amenities is planned for the new state park. When Bryant Creek State Park is complete, it will feature two day-use areas. Each will have picnic tables, toilets, and water.

If you're a fan of old-school camping, you'll eventually be able to make use of the primitive camping area, where you can pitch a tent. The camping area will have fire rings and picnic tables.

While visitors can currently hike on the two hiking trails, additional trails will follow. Future trails will allow for hikers, bikers, and horseback riders.
