Technically tucked between Columbia and Ashland, the Boone County natural area is true to its name. Turkey, Bass, and Bonne Flemme are the three creeks that meander through Three Creeks Conservation Area.

The best way to explore this Missouri natural wonder is on one of its hiking trails. For an easy trek, follow the 3.8-mile Three Creeks Trail. It tends to be quiet, so you likely won’t run into any others during your journey.

Hikers describe the dog-friendly trail as a walk through the woods. Be prepared for bugs during the warmer months and mud after the rain or snow.

If you’re up for another quiet but somewhat challenging hike, follow the 2.9-mile Turkey Creek Interpretive Nature Trail or the 4.2-mile Three Creeks Trail via South Tomlin Hill Trailhead.
