This Underrated State Park Might Just Be The Most Beautiful Place In Mississippi

Shadow Lake is the centerpiece of the park.

The freshwater lake covers 150 acres.

It's beautiful on a misty morning.

The lake is the perfect place to spend the day fishing. You can also go boating and swimming in Shadow Lake.

Enjoy the waterslide that drops you right into the cool waters.

You can also swim in the park's pool, which has its own waterslide.

Other outdoor amenities include a softball field, disc golf course, playground and tennis courts.

From the scenic overlook, visitors have a stunning view of the Bienville National Forest.

The view is always gorgeous, but in the autumn, the forest comes alive with vibrant colors, and the overlook provides a panoramic view.

The lake and surrounding woods are filled with wildlife.

They're accustomed to people, so it's pretty easy to get some great photos ...but please don't feed them.

Roosevelt State Park has four nature paths that wind through the wooded area surrounding the lake.

You can spend hours exploring the park and enjoying the quiet, peaceful surroundings.

Camp overnight in one of the park's primitive tent sites, right on the lake.

The primitive sites are on the upper west end of the lake.

Bring your RV to stay in one of 109 campsites.

Roosevelt Park has 15 cabins with lake views.

The screened-in porches are perfect for sitting and enjoying the evening.

Cabins are furnished with queen-sized beds, fully-equipped kitchens, television and heating/air-conditioning.

If its natural beauty isn’t enough for you, Roosevelt State Park also has a performing arts center!

The Livingston Performing Arts and Media Center hosts community events, music, dance and theater performances. The 600-seat theater can be rented for use by calling the park at (601) 732-6583.

The lodge also offers a game room, gift shop, banquet hall and meeting rooms.
