Offering all the perks of a state park, plus the thrilling fun of a water park, Buccaneer State Park is always worth a visit! The unique mix of amenities isn’t all the park has going for it, though. There’s also its out-of-the-way locale, which means crowds aren’t the norm.
Located on the beach in Waveland, Buccaneer State Park is rich in coastal beauty and recreational opportunities.
It’s got all the typical state park amenities, including a nature trail, playground, and disc golf course.
Buccaneer State Park has campsites, too. Drive your RV or pack a tent and camp on a grassy knoll, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.
But what really makes Buccaneer State Park one of the most unique state parks in Mississippi is its water park, Buccaneer Bay.
The 4.5-acre water park is open daily throughout the summer season, which typically runs from Memorial Day – Labor Day.
With several slides, a kids area, 460,000-gallon wave pool, and standard pool, Buccaneer Bay offers all the fun of a larger water park, minus the hoards of people.
The water park also features an eatery and 10,000-square-foot sun deck with lounge chairs.
Between the coastal setting and the array of amenities, Buccaneer State Park is a family favorite, and it’s easy to see why!
