Here in Minnesota, the time of outdoor dining is upon us. It's time to soak in the sun, take in the sights, and down the drinks that come with patio season. There are plenty of places to choose from all across the state, but one of our favorites is a tiki restaurant that overlooks the Mississippi River. Not only is it one of the best patios around, but they serve the best food and stiffest drinks. Take a look:
Psycho Suzi's Motor Lounge is a popular spot in Northeast Minneapolis. Address: 1900 Marshall Street Northeast, Minneapolis, MN 55418.
You wouldn't know it from the outside, but the restaurant is about as tropical it gets in the Upper Midwest. The inside it filled with tiki touches. But it's the outside where you really want to be.
The wide patio out back has plentiful seating options. Umbrellas and canopies provide shade, as do the natural foliage surrounding the deck.
Best of all, the patio looks over the Mississippi River! This riverfront patio has one of the best views in Minneapolis. You don't want to miss it.
It's good all day, but the best time to visit might be as the sun sets. In the middle of the city, it feels great to get away at this almost-tropical oasis.
But you don't just go to Psycho Suzi's for the patio! Their food is good too. Order a couple of appetizers as you watch the sun sink over the river.
If you're feeling hungrier, Psycho Suzi's has plenty of other options, too. Whether you want chicken and waffles or a classic burger, you'll find it here.
Their pizza is especially delicious. You can order it in with a wide variety of toppings - all fresh - and it'll come piled high. This is the perfect dish to share.
Don't forget to wash it all down with a tropical drink. This tiki restaurant has a big drink menu. All are stiff, fruity, and delicious.
If you haven't been to Psycho Suzi's, visit as soon as you can! We think you'll love this tiki restaurant and its amazing riverfront patio. They're open 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and Sunday. Check the website and Facebook for more information.
