Isle Royale National Park in Michigan is one such hidden gem that we'd like to talk about. Have a look - it's amazing; easily one of the most beautiful places in Michigan, it's hard to imagine you'll ever want to leave.
On the shores of Lake Superior is where you'll find Isle Royale, the only National Park in Michigan.
You'll have to get there by boat...
…and you'll instantly think of this place as the land of wild moose and wolves.
And it's true, you just might spot a moose, like this big bull, at any given moment when you're hiking...
But what you'll also encounter is some wild, untamed terrain...
...and trails that see few visitors, even fewer in one year than Yellowstone National Park gets in a single day.
That means quiet nights of camping, with just you and your thoughts. Perfect.
Oh, and plenty of giant bugs, especially during the warmer months. There are those.
But if you don't mind that sort of company, you're in for one of the most tranquil places in all of Michigan, and we couldn't love it more!
