Blackstone Gorge in Massachusetts is a hidden gem featuring a scenic hike, a dramatic waterfall, and stunning views.
Massachusetts is a state that's filled with hidden gems and natural wonders, including places like the Brewster Tidal Flats and Chesterfield Gorge. But there's one less-traveled gorge in Massachusetts that's totally worth exploring. Blackstone Gorge in Worcester County is one you may not have heard of but you should make it a point to visit.
Located within a park, Blackstone Gorge is found within the 48-mile Blackstone River in the Worcester County town of Blackstone.
To get to the gorge, visitors can take the 1.2-mile Blackstone Gorge loop trail. This relatively easy trail will take just over a half-hour to complete. While it is rated easy, there are some rocky areas to be aware of. Make sure you are wearing proper footwear for this hike!
This scenic hike leads through the forest to the river and eventually to the gorge. The trail is ideal for walking, hiking, and birdwatching.
Eventually, you will see the gorge complete with a waterfall. Dare we say that it's GORGEous?
The waterfall is as dramatic as it is stunning. Try to find a spot to sit and take in the views for a while. Believe us when we tell you that you'll want to spend as much time here as possible.
You can also get another perspective of the gorge and the waterfall from an overlook as well.
