When the weather is beautiful, you just dream of spending time at the beach. The ultimate place to relax and soak in the sweet rays of sun we have here in our state. We know of a very small state park that can give you the total beach experience without the salt water. This small state park in Maine is perfect for a day trip: Damariscotta Lake State Park.

Damariscotta Lake In Jefferson is a great destination for those who want a beach experience. Sure we have great oceans but the water in this state park is significantly warmer and always welcoming.

The grassy lawn gives way to a soft sand beach that is perfect for enjoying the sun. Grab a towel and your family and make sure to head out to this inviting beach.

The park is only 19 acres making it one of the smallest state parks in our state. However, when you look out at the vast expanse of the lake you will get caught up in the greater landscape surrounding you.

There are group shelters that can be reserved ahead of time equipped with electricity, running water, and grills. Many of the picnic tables in the surrounding area have grills next to them so you can have an all-American hamburger well enjoying this picturesque destination.

The water is always welcoming for those who would like to swim.

Splash in the calm and cooling waters of the Damariscotta Lake or just grab a raft and float. As the hot sun glimmers off of the water it is as if you are wading in a pool of diamonds.

Pop up a beach chair and just watch the smooth lapping of the water on the shore. The relaxing rhythm of the lake is sure to be a perfect backdrop to a peaceful day.

Travel out to Damariscotta Lake on a beautiful day with your family to enjoy this small state park in Maine. Keep in mind that there is a fee to enter and the parking lot may fill up rather quickly so arrive early. For any more information make sure to visit the Damariscotta Lake park page. Then get outside and make good use of this gorgeous lake beach.

When you are done with a day at the lake make sure to head down the road to a unique and historic store.
