The Deboullie Public Reserve Land in Aroostook County's Eagle Lake offers 29,000 acres of some of the most remote wilderness in the state.

The reserve offers three trails ranging in length from four miles to six miles.

And while they're not the longest in the state, they do range in difficulty from moderate to advanced. This is mainly due to rocks and elevation, so if you're comfortable with those features give it a go!

The area is surrounded by mountains, including the Deboullie Mountain and Black Mountain, both of which can be explored with hiking trails.

And it's also chock full of waterways! There are 17 ponds here and many can be seen from the trails or from the summits those trails lead to.

The Deboullie Public Reserve Land also has a fun former fire tower to explore at the top of Deboullie Mountain.
