There’s Nothing Quite As Magical As The Tunnel Of Trees You’ll Find At St. Bernard Highway In Louisiana

Louisiana has a number of notable natural attributes that stand out from the rest of the U.S. One such standout attraction that is not easily replicated is the St. Bernard Highway Tunnel of Trees. The historical landmark is located in Meraux, within the St. Bernard Parish. This particular picturesque tunnel of trees is worth a drive or stroll, particularly on a sunny day!

This particular tunnel of trees is located along the scenic LA-46, which also is known as St. Bernard Highway.

The St. Bernard Tunnel of Trees is part of a former plantation. Today, the Docville Farm operates here. Docville’s operations also are known as Pecan Grove.

The St. Bernard Parish is located just a short distance from New Orleans. Unlike its urban neighbor, many areas of the St. Bernard Parish are sparsely populated with abundant nature and open areas.

The St. Bernard Highway Tunnel of Trees is located within the town of Meraux. A number of other scenic spots are located in or very close to Meraux, including Algiers Lock, a locale noted for its fishing.
