Going for a walk is one of the best things you can do for yourself and the Bluegrass State is perfect for strolling through beautiful scenery. There are plenty of popular trails and paths that are definitely worth visiting and sometimes nothing can beat a walk through your own neighborhood or town, but then there are those times you want a bit more seclusion. Kentucky State Parks shared a list of "Trails Less Traveled" throughout the state and one of the destinations is Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park. Known for its location on Kentucky Lake, but not necessarily for its hiking, you'll love the peace and quiet along these scenic hiking trails through Kentucky.

Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park is located in Calvert City, right on the banks of Kentucky Lake.

With great access to the lake and its closeness to Land Between the Lakes, it's all about nature at this scenic Kentucky park. It's known for its activities on the water, as well as its lodge, restaurant, campground, and seasonal beach.

Fishing is another favorite activity at the park and is lovely throughout most of the year.

What's not quite as popular at KY Dam Village is hiking, but the park does offer some scenic hiking trails that are ideal for peace and quiet.

There are options for mountain biking, horse back riding, and just walking both along the lake and through the woods.

The wildlife in this area is incredible and a main draw for guests.

Start at the Conference Center and take the short, but beautiful Sail trail. You'll love the shade on a warm day and the relaxing scenery of the plant life and canopy of trees.

The Sail Trail connects to the Lakeshore Trail, which is another great spot to stretch your legs.

Or start at the Village Inn Lodge and take the walking trail that takes you over the water, along the lake, and even over the dam. It's 5 miles round trip and includes overlooks of the lake.

Be sure to keep your eyes on the sky while walking, as this is a popular area for bald eagles.

There are organized outings to spot these eagles at certain times of the year, or you can just explore on your own during a visit.

Golf at Kentucky Dam Village is very popular and another way to see and experience the park.

Walk this beautiful pathway during a round and experience the seclusion and rest this scenic Kentucky State Park provides.

Getting outside is a great mood booster, and it's even better when you can visit some of the scenic hiking trails in Kentucky.
