There are many things in the great state of Kentucky that have a special place in our hearts, such as our beautiful farmland, locally-made products, and any spot that promotes fun and time outdoors. This is just the beginning of the list of things we love in the Bluegrass State, but a new destination recently opened that perfectly represents all three. Lexington's West Sixth Brewing has opened West Sixth Farm, a unique farm in Frankfort that specializes in all things beer, relaxing fun, and Kentucky's amazing natural beauty. It may sound too good to be true, but it truly is as incredible as it sounds.

Since 2012, West Sixth Brewing has been serving up locally-made beer and plenty of good times at their taprooms. This Lexington destination recently expanded by opening a beautiful farm property in Frankfort that includes its own taproom and so much more.

The potential for this large farm in the rolling hills of Kentucky is endless, and they've started with a taproom and outdoor gathering spot that's relaxing and ideal for all types of visitors.

The farm is open Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. for now, but you can definitely expect those times to expand as the farm gains a loyal following.

As the property is a functioning farm, it is actually run by a farmer, Birch Bragg, who has worked tirelessly to prepare the property for us to visit.

Along with a passionate team, they've built the farm to include plant life such as cider apple trees, blackberry brambles, and, of course, hops.

You'll also find a few cows and a flock of chickens. You may initially head to the farm for a beer and relaxation, but don't forget to roam the property to get a taste of Kentucky farm life.

There are four miles of trails winding through the property that you are free to explore.

The trail is ideal for hikers and it's also great for mountain bikers. Keep in mind that it is an intermediate level trail and helmets are required.

If you love to spend time outdoors and like to top off your adventures with a cold drink and a tasty meal, there's no better place than West Sixth Farm.

Order one of several West Sixth specialties on tap and have a seat at a picnic table or lounge chair, which all overlook the beautiful property.

Bring along the kids - they'll love playing in the gravel and running around the farm - come by yourself, or bring a group. The farm is a lovely gathering spot on the weekends and if you're looking for a unique venue.

During its weekend hours, West Sixth Farm has hosted food trucks, along with serving up their favorite brews, so it really is a one-stop-shop for relaxation.

As the sun goes down behind the trees, the pavilion begins to glow and the atmosphere becomes even more inviting.

West Sixth Farm has big dreams and big plans for this property, so be sure to show it the love you'll undoubtedly feel when you pay it a visit. The farm showcases what we love about Kentucky, and we couldn't be happier to see it thrive.
