If you've been waiting for a great hiking trail for the whole family, Turkey Creek Streamway Trail has all of that and a waterfall. If you like hiking with others, paved trails, and open nature with a waterfall, this trail might be the one for you. Can you do the whole length, though? You'll have to find out!
Welcome, Kansas hikers! Today's adventure is all about the beauty of Turkey Creek Streamway Trail out near Overland Park.
First and foremost, we're glad that this beautiful trail is paved and pretty wide throughout most of the path. It makes travel using wheels much easier, whether that's a stroller, mountain bike, or wheelchair.
All sorts of wildlife flourish on the trail, from flowers and mushrooms to a variety of birds and sometimes deer. It might be near the city, but it's still a beauty.
Here, there are 7.2 miles of out-and-back trail that is pretty heavily used, kid-friendly, and easily accessible. Do you want to know what the best part is, though?
The waterfall! Though it's not a "real" waterfall by many standards, we enjoy any spillways and flowing water can relax anyone.
Relax on a great hike, spend time outdoors with family, and enjoy a breath of fresh air. Why not make it a road trip?
The trail is great when it's not too wet but has recently rained, and dogs are allowed if they are leashed. Have fun here, and remember to take anything back with you that you brought.
