Head To The Flint Hills Of Kansas To Visit Nelson’s Landing, A Charming, Old Fashioned Restaurant

Ready for another old fashioned restaurant to add to your travel list? Of course the restaurant itself isn't as old as many of our favorite spots in Kansas, but it's the home style food that makes it old fashioned. Food that isn't fancy and doesn't come with bells and whistles is something we appreciate, and can't get enough of.

Welcome to Nelson's Landing, a restaurant out in the Flint Hills area of Kansas that's all about that classic Kansas feel.

However, this restaurant has a bit of a twist. They're very much like a sports bar with how much they love Nelson and the Green Bay Packers.

By far a fan favorite at this classic eatery is their chicken fried steak, which is crispy and covered in gravy, just how we like it. They've been cooking these up since 2007, and we hope they never stop.

Honestly, the only way it gets any better is if you also enjoy a glass of beer and sides along with it. If you have room, that is.

Of course, they have classic burgers and fries also available, whether you're a fan of classic cheeseburgers or a mushroom swiss burger.

As with any old fashioned Kansas restaurant, having a slice of pie after your meal is always the best way to go.

Nelson's Landing is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays.
