Perry Lake is an artificial lake in northeastern Kansas. The impressive body of water spans more than 11,000 acres, with 160 miles of shoreline.

It's no wonder that this place is nicknamed the "Paradise on the Plains." While the primary purpose of Perry Lake was to serve as flood control, it's also an extremely popular recreation area.

Perry State Park is located along the southwestern end of Perry Lake. You'll find plenty of opportunities for both fun and relaxation here, with popular activities including boating, camping, hiking, and fishing.

Speaking of fishing, Perry Lake happens to be one of the best bass lakes in the entire country.

Adrenaline junkies can get their thrills by water skiing over the lake's surface.

But if you're just looking for a tranquil place to relax and forget all of your worries, the lake's ample shoreline provides chances to do just that.

Here in the Sunflower State, we're much better known for our expansive plains than our beautiful lakes. This is one lake in Kansas that definitely deserves some recognition!
