1. Fall Creek Gorge Nature Preserve
This short trail leads to a little waterfall that is surrounded by beautiful forestry. Located near Liberty, the trail is 1.1 miles straight into the woods and is ideal for hiking, running, and dog walking.
Please note that, due to extensive damage incurred as a result of mistreatment of the land, this preserve is closed until further notice.
2. Anderson Falls
Located at Bartholomew County Park near Hartsville, this lovely loop trail goes by one of the state's most incredible falls. The trails here are slightly overgrown, so you'll feel like a true explorer on this 1.8-mile path.
3. France Park
This 2.2-mile trail near Logansport is full of beautiful views. The best thing to see is the waterfall, of course, but you'll also enjoy rock formations, wildlife, and a beach.
4. Clifty Falls
This 5.8-mile loop is one of the longest waterfall hikes in the state. It is located near Madison in Clifty Falls State Park and can be accessed year round. Enjoy well-marked trails and rock cut-outs.
5. Kokiwanee Nature Preserve Trail
This 1.6-mile trail is great for all sorts of nature adventures and takes hikers to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the state. Located near the town of Largo, it features a lake and many incredible views.
6. Cascades Park Trail
This is a paved trail that is very easy to access. It spans just .8 miles and is part of the Griffy Lake Nature Preserve near Bloomington. It leads to a marvelous waterfall that is much more beautiful in person.
7. Falls Canyon Trail
Nestled within McCormicks Creek State Park, this 4.9-mile trail is for the more advanced hiker. Hills, rocky cliffs, and uneven ground make up this trail that leads to a hidden gem you'll never forget.
8. Williamsport Falls Loop Hike
No matter the time of year, this excellent trail in Williamsport will offer some incredible views. Spanning 1.6 miles and circling around in a loop, that path is great for all skill levels and is used for hiking and biking.
