The next time you go hiking through the Hoosier State, consider trying one of the following eight trails that will take you over some of the most fantastical foot bridges in the Midwest. We definitely recommend bringing your camera along. They're some of the best hikes in Indiana.
1. Potawatomi Wildlife Park Trails Loop
Located near Tippecanoe, this 4.4-mile loop trail is accessible for all ages and skill levels. This beautiful bridge crosses the Tippecanoe River where locals love to get scenic shots like this one.
2. Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve
Part of a 1.3-mile hike, this unique path is one of the coolest foot bridges in Indiana. It is located near Fishers and is not as popular as you might think, so you may be lucky and have it all to yourself.
3. Clifty Falls 8, 3, 4, 5 Loop
This 5-mile trail leads to a fairytale bridge like no other. Located near Madison in Clifty Falls State Park, locals use this trail regularly and love getting gorgeous photos of this bridge.
4. Elliot Woods Trail
This 1.9-mile hike leads to a tiny, surprising foot bridge you don't want to miss. It is located in Prairie Creek Park in Terre Haute and is quite popular throughout the year.
5. Wabash and Eerie Canal Trail Loop
Situated along the Wabash River near Delphi, this marvelous path is great for all skill levels and leads to one of the most amazing foot bridges in the Hoosier State. Use this 1.7-mile loop trail to find it.
6. Arbuckle Park Loop
Located in Arbuckle Acres Park near Brownsburg, this 1-mile path leads to a beautiful bridge that crosses White Lick Creek near Indianapolis. The trail is easy to hike, and you'll want to spend all day at the bridge looking at the water below.
7. Deep River Hike
This 2.7-mile hike is part of the Deep River County Park near Hobart. It features a simple foot bridge that crosses Deep River in the northwestern corner of the state.
8. Charlestown State Park #6 Trail
This foot bridge is just like something out of a fantasy. The hike is about 2.3 miles and is located near the town of Charlestown. This popular trail is situated near the Ohio River in the southeastern part of the state.
