Next time you have a nice free weekend, take a trip to Southern Indiana for an amazing cave trail that is like nothing you'd expect to find in the Midwest.

Though you can start at either end - those coming from the northern portion of the state may find it easiest to begin with Bluespring Caverns Park in Bedford.
Guests take a one-hour boat through these dark caverns where blind fish and bats live. This natural wonder is one of the most unique attractions in the whole state.
This cave is open mid-March through October and is located at 1459 Blue Springs Cavern Rd., Bedford, IN 47421. During the season, it is typically open from 9 a.m. until 4 or 5 p.m. Admission for adults is $18 while children between ages 3 and 15 may enter for just $10. The second spot you'll head to is Marengo Cave in the town of Marengo.
This awesome place has been in operation since 1883 and is more than just a cave tour.
In addition to walking tours, guests can also participate in gemstone mining, canoeing adventures, cave explorations, and more. The longest trail takes about an hour to complete.
Visitors pay between $10 and $20 per trail. The best deal is to get both for $28 ($16 for children age 16 and under). Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and it is located at 400 East State Rd. 64, Marengo, IN 47140. Click here to learn more.

This wonderful place in Corydon offers walking tours with a boat ride, gemstone mining, historic wonders, and much more.
Each tour lasts an hour and a half. Visitors travel 110 feet underground to marvel at waterfalls, gigantic boulders, and fossils of ancient species.
The cost for adults is $21 and $11.50 for children between the ages of 4 and 12. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and this third leg of the trail is located at 1267 Green Acres Dr. SW, Corydon, IN 47112. For more information on the Indiana Caverns website here.
Squire Boone Caverns, the final cave on this trail is lesser-known, but perhaps more amazing than any other.
It features rushing streams, waterfalls, bridges, and a 73-step spiral staircase.
Visitors walk less than a half mile through a cool natural ecosystem that exists underground. There's also a rock shop and a restored mill from the 1800s to educate and entertain.
Visitors pay $19 ($18 for seniors) though children may enter for $10.50. Tours are available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. most days. You can check the schedule on the Squire Boone Caverns website here for further details.
