Oldfield Oaks Forest Preserve in northeast Illinois spans exactly 109 acres and features two trails that combine to create about two miles of paths.
There is both a .6-mile loop trail as well as a larger 1.1-mile loop path that meanders through the diverse ecosystems.
Hikers will come across prairie lands, woodlands, and wetlands all within this one 100-acre forest. The multitude of ecosystems makes for many unique adventures.
The views at this nature preserve are second-to-none if you love a lot of greenery. The limestone trails will lead you deep into the forests and savannas.
