Pick Your Own Sunflowers At This Charming Farm Hiding In Illinois

In most parts of the country, sunflowers are late-summer arrivals, showing off bursts of happy vibrant yellows in many farm fields. If you're looking for a farm to cut your own sunflowers and to take photos, M & D Farms and Garden Center in Homer Glen is home to a gorgeous sunflower field that is sure to make your day a bit brighter.

Located in the village of Homer Glen about 30 miles southwest of Chicago, M & D Farms and Garden Center provides plenty of bedding flats, perennials, and other flowers for visitors to buy and plant at home.

There is a wide selection of high-quality flowers here that you can't find at bigger stores. The friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff can help you select the best flowers for your garden.

And during mid-to-late summer, M & D Farms is home to a beautiful field of sunflowers that they call "sunflowers of color." The flowers in this field aren't just your standard yellow, but red, white, and orange as well.

The farm charges an admission fee to enter the field and you must also pay $3 for each sunflower stem you cut. Children three and under are free.

If you're a professional photographer or come here to do a photo shoot, there's a daily fee that must be paid.

In addition to flowers, you can also pick up fresh farm-grown fruit and veggies while you're here. They offer peaches, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, corn, broccoli, and so much more!
