We’ve all probably heard the phrase, "less is more," with the idea being that something doesn’t have to be grandiose in order to be significant. And that phrase can be applied to hiking as well. If you’re looking for something "less" strenuous that still gives you "more" bang for the buck, so to speak, check out the Adam’s Gulch Trail, a short and easy hike in Ketchum, Idaho.
The Adam’s Gulch Trail is located west of Highway 75 off Adam’s Gulch Road, approximately a 3-mile drive north of downtown Ketchum.
The scenic beauty of this canyon area is part of what makes it such a popular spot.
In addition to the Adam’s Gulch Trail, there are several others that crisscross the area.
It is also known by many as the Griffin Butte Loop and the terrain varies as you go along.
It's pretty easy to keep on course. Just follow the signs.
Like anywhere, it’s advisable to bring and drink plenty of water along the way. Also, consider packing a picnic lunch so you can sit and enjoy the scenery.
The trail winds through beautiful tree lines and open fields that change color with the seasons.
Although the entire loop actually encompasses a little over nine miles, lots of folks promote traversing a short part of it because it offers enough of a workout and is pretty easy to navigate.
Beautiful sights like this are common along the trail.
It is one of the things that makes a visit here an iconic Sun Valley experience.
A lot of mountain bikers traverse this, as well as another bike trail meandering through the canyon landscape.
The views—whether on foot or on two wheels—are simply breathtaking!
Time in the great outdoors doesn’t get that much better than this! Wear your best hiking boots, bring your camera, and pack your sense of adventure for a wonderful hiking experience that will stay with you for some time to come.
