Worley, Idaho is a small town in Kootenai County that many people don’t even know exists. However, this town is home to a hidden gem state park that is lesser-known, beautiful, and the perfect peaceful escape — Mowry State Park. Just a short distance from the Idaho and Washington state line, and sitting on the shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene, this park is perfect for a day outdoors. Fish, boat, picnic, swim — it’s a place to de-stress, relax, and receive a little fresh air.

Mowry State Park is the perfect place for some time away. This is a boat-in-only state park. There is no vehicle access. You’ll have to take a few extra steps to get here but the journey is just as scenic as the state park itself.

Mowry State Park may not have all of the amenities and services that other parks in Idaho boast but that doesn’t mean it is lacking. In fact, when you arrive, you will find a boat dock and picnic areas where you can spend some time on the shore and enjoy the breathtaking lake views.

Keep in mind that all docks and shelters are first come, first serve. No fees are required to use these amenities.

If you wish to spend some time on the water, you can swim or fish along the shore.

You can also just find a quiet spot and relax with the gorgeous lake views in front of you — it’s beautiful.
