This One City In Idaho Will Have The Clearest Skies In America For Viewing The Solar Eclipse

Idaho Falls is one of the best places to view the Great American Eclipse on August 21, 2017, with clear skies predicted.

The Great American Eclipse is just days away and chances are, you've already made plans to observe this incredible phenomenon. In fact, Idaho happens to fall in the direct path of the total eclipse and it's an experience that won't occur again for another 152 years. Officials have now released a projected forecast for August 21st, 2017 and as it happens, our very own Idaho Falls is at the top of the list. Here's the latest on how you can maximize your eclipse viewing experience:

Beginning at approximately 11:25 A.M. MST, the eclipse will pass over Idaho's western border and will reach the Wyoming border at 11:36 MST.

Residents of Idaho will experience approximately two minutes of the eclipse, during which time the sun will be totally eclipsed by the moon.

According to NASA, Wyoming, Oregon and Idaho have the best chances of experiencing clear skies on Monday.

Various weather reports indicate that the Western United States will have a higher chance of clear skies than the eastern portion of the country. These predictions were made using 16 years of data from daily satellite recordings.

Idaho Falls was already on the map for an excellent viewing spot along the eclipse path and with this latest weather forecast, it is now indisputably one of the best cities for experiencing the eclipse.

If you're one of the lucky residents of Idaho Falls, your own backyard has officially become one of the best viewing spots in the country.

Don't forget to take caution, though! Eclipse glasses are absolutely necessary for anyone looking up at the sky during that moment. If you've yet to purchase your glasses, be sure to find a pair to keep your eyes protected.
