This Hiking Trail In Idaho Is One Of The Coolest Outdoor Adventures You’ll Ever Take

There are many things to love about Treasure Valley, but if you love to hike, that list is even longer. Just outside of the city, you will find incredible trails that are just waiting to be explored. One of these hikes is found at Camel’s Back and Hulls Gulch Reserve and it deserves a spot on every bucket list. It is the Camels Back Trails Loop. It’s short, a little challenging, but scenic. It’s one of the coolest outdoor adventures you’ll take in the area. Just don’t forget your camera — you’ll regret it.

Camel’s Back and Hulls Gulch Reserve is a delightful place for a day trip. It’s a great escape from the city and home to several trails, including the Camels Back Trails Loop.

This is a 1.7-mile loop trail that is well maintained and wide, making it quite easy to follow.

However, despite the shorter distance, this isn’t going to be the easiest journey. This route is considered moderate in difficulty as there are some steep climbs you must tackle.

You can't forget about the large flight of stairs you must climb either. But, the views at the top are worth every single step.

From the top, you will receive incredible views of Treasure Valley and on clear days, you can see for miles away.

This hike is particularly beautiful in the spring and summer months when wildflowers are in bloom and line portions of the trail.

But our favorite time to hike the Camels Back Trails Loop is in the autumn when the City of Trees is covered in vibrant reds, yellows, and oranges.

No matter when you tackle the Camels Back Trails Loop, make sure to always come prepared. The trail is sandy in areas and there is little shade. Proper footwear and lots of water is an absolute must. Because this trail is beautiful and perfect for a short adventure outdoors, it can become quite busy. We recommend exploring on a weekday or early mornings. This is a great way to start your day.
