This Iconic Hiking Trail In Idaho Is One Of The Coolest Outdoor Adventures You’ll Ever Take

There are some hikes in Idaho that are perfect for an afternoon adventure. The trails are easy, the effort is minimal, and the views are breathtaking. The Glassford Peak Trail is not one of them. This is one of the most challenging hikes you will tackle in Idaho and it’s one that beginning hikers will want to avoid. However, despite the difficulty, you are going to encounter inspiring landscapes, a few natural wonders, and a hiking trip of a lifetime. In fact, you may believe that this is one of the best hikes in Idaho.

The Glassford Peak Trail is located in the Hemingway-Boulders Wilderness just a short drive from Hailey. On this trail, you will hike to the beautiful Glassford Peak, which stands at 11,500 feet in elevation.

This is a 15.2-mile out-and-back trail that is going to challenge you mentally and physically.

Be prepared to climb as you will gain nearly 6,000 feet in elevation. This is a trail designed for experienced hikers and is a trail worth adding to bucket lists.

But despite the challenge, the hike to Glassford Peak is going to be worth every step. You will walk along creeks with the towering mountains surrounding you.

In the summer months, this is a wonderful trail for viewing wildflowers of all colors.
