The Peach State is pretty famous for its abundance of waterfalls that are scattered all over the state. People flock from throughout the country to check out these magical water wonders. But what many people don't realize is that, despite the temperatures getting colder, the water is still a flowin'. In fact, many of the frozen waterfalls in Georgia are even more stunning during the winter months. We may have a relatively mild climate compared to the rest of the country, but that doesn't mean there aren't some great opportunities for winter hiking in Georgia. You have to see the beauty of these in person to see just how beautiful our state can be. Check out some of the best winter hikes in Georgia that lead to amazing frozen waterfalls:

1. Waterfalls Trail at Cloudland Canyon State Park: 122 Cloudland Canyon Park Rd, Rising Fawn, GA 30738

Cloudland Canyon State Park is one of the most beautiful places in Georgia. One of the best aspects of it is the Waterfalls Trail, and it looks even better in the winter. The jaw-dropping views of these frozen waterfalls and icicles draping the mountainside is what winter is all about.

2. Vickery Creek: Roswell, GA

Vickery Creek may not have the biggest waterfall you've ever seen, but it sure can be glorious. This is one of our favorite places for winter hiking in Georgia. A trip to Vickery Creek in winter allows you to observe some sensational snowy landscapes. The finish by the creek is so picturesque!

3. Tallulah Gorge: 338 Jane Hurt Yarn Rd, Tallulah Falls, GA 30573

Tallulah Gorge is one of the top tourist attractions in Georgia, and of all the waterfalls in the state it also happens to be one of the best when frozen. It is magical whether it's flush with running water or completely frozen over. The hike to get there is amazing, and the gorge's little crevices that get swept up in ice are even prettier.

4. Amicalola Falls: 418 Amicalola Falls State Park Rd, Dawsonville, GA 30534

We admit it: it's rare for Amicalola Falls to freeze completely over. However, it's still a wonder when visited during winter. The crisp, cool air, snowy mountain shelves, and little ice crystals dotting every crevice are nothing short of amazing. This is a short but sweet hike with a beautiful view.

5. Helton Creek Falls: Chattahoochee National Forest, Georgia

There are some phenomenal waterfalls in Georgia, especially in the Helen area, located in the northern part of the state, which was called the "Land of 1,000 Waterfalls" by the Cherokee. When Helton Creek freezes over, it's perhaps the most magical of all waterfalls. The icy tundras of the nearby brush make everything a special sight. It's a two-tiered water fall and popular swimming spot in the summer, but we find it even more beautiful in winter.

6. Cloudland Canyon State Park: 122 Cloudland Canyon Park Rd, Rising Fawn, GA 30738

Even if you don't take the entire Waterfalls Trail in Cloudland Canyon, the state park will still give you some beautiful views of frozen waterfalls in Georgia. Cloudland Canyon is such an enchanting park during the wintertime. This is probably the best place in the state to see as many frozen falls as possible.

7. Blue Ridge, Georgia

When winter hits in Blue Ridge, you can see just about any of the city's plentiful waterfalls in an icicle state. It makes for a fascinating hike through the woods, no matter the season.
