Don't you love berry season in Florida? It's one of my personal favorites. I love being able to head out to my local farm, pick fresh berries straight from the source, and then sprinkle them on my yogurt, into my cereal, or have a handful as a snack. You might not immediately think of Florida as blueberry country, but the state has now climbed to eighth place in the nation for blueberry production. Just twenty years ago, there was no blueberry industry in Florida. And now, you can pick your own! Check out Rooney’s Front Porch, Live Oak, Florida, this summer for u-pick blueberries fresh from the bush.
When berry season rolls around in Florida, it’s time to head to your local farm for some u-pick fun.
For anyone near the Live Oak area, the best choice for delicious blueberries is none other than Rooney’s Front Porch, a family-owned farm with some of the tastiest and most fresh blueberries you’d find.
With seasons starting around the end of May, guests are invited to pick blueberries right from the bush, and pay by the pound.
It’s not just blueberries either - there are blackberries, too! Whatever you pick and pay for, you can take home to enjoy.
Locals are also in love with Rooney’s Front Porch, with many confirming it’s well-maintained, clean, and easy to navigate.
When you visit, make sure to take a look around at the homemade goods they offer as well. You might be able to score some blueberry jam to take home, or even some delicious baked goods!
Once you’re done with your picking adventure, you can wash and situated your berries to take home. Nothing is better than fresh fruit right from where they’ve grown.
